Macallan 1967 Bottling Note
Distilled in 1967 at the Macallan and aged in first fill sherry casks, bottled by Gordon and MacPhail as part of the Speymalt range. The bottlers describe this as "a big, sherried malt."
The nose is full and rich. There is a thick fruit note with petals and barley sugars. Toasted cereal emerges with notes of juicy esters. The palate is full and well-balanced. There are notes of marmalade and winter spice. Fruitcake notes develop with tannic, chewy oak and the resin thereof. The finish is long and smooth with oak and dried fruits.
