World Other Grain Whisky of the Year - 2014
Insider knowledge: Teeling Single Grain whiskey is named whiskey by virtue of the fact it's from Ireland. If distilled in Scotland the spelling would be Teeling Single Grain whisky, as opposed to whiskey.
I had the pleasure of tasting this little beauty at a tasting with Stephen Teeling at the Soho Whisky Club before Christmas! I was blown away by the depth of the grain and flavour infused by the wine cask! Maize as a grain is the way forward! Loved his description of it as his 'Breakfast Whiskey'!!

I was lucky enough to try this on a recent tasting. Considering grain whiskies generally lack the depth of flavour profile of malts, especially at the younger end of the scale, this whikey knocks that into a cocked hat. A great, fruit laden spicey dram from this 5yr old grain. Well done Stephen Teeling and the team and well worth the money. Very unique
