Teaninich 27 Year Old 1972 - Rare Malts
Distilled at Teaninich in 1972 and aged for 27 years before bottling at a thunderous cask strength for Diageo's Rare Malts range.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
The nose is quite peppy and of medium-body. There are notes of fragrant oak and a resinous character, potpourri and butterscotch, hints of vanilla spice and crème anglaise with a peppery oak lining. The palate is quite full and well-balanced. There is a good barley sugar sweetness with dried peels and mixed fruits and marzipan in abundance with all the requisite oiliness. The finish is long and punchy with a fiery oak.
