What's in a name? Talisker 175th Anniversary whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Talisker 175th Anniversary whiskey, rather than whisky.
The nose is fresh with coastal notes and gentle barley sweetness. There are notes of chewy earthen peat with sea weed and fudge. A development of fruit builds with various conserves, chewy plums and damsons, Bramley apples and calvados and a vinous character. The palate is quite smooth and of good body. There is a little barley sweetness with lemons and limes and orange zest, hints of oaked pepper with a coastal edge. The peat is supple with herbal notes and cut fennel.
