A Gordon and MacPhail bottling of 25 year old whisky, a great value bottling from the Strathisla distillery.
The nose is quite full and well-balanced. There are notes of dark sugars and aged rums, brandy steeped fruitcake, orange juice and the marmalade made thereof with a resinous note. The palate is quite full and thick. There perfumy notes with juicy fruit and smoked meats. Hints of rubber and tarry ropes with dry, chewy oak with pepper. The finish is long and oaked with a degree of warmth.
