What's in a name? Strathisla 1967 (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Strathisla 1967 (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, rather than whisky.
The nose is of good body with notes of orange peels, dried and sugared and steeped in sherry. Eucalyptus oil develops with rubbed petals and soft smoke. The palate is quite full and well-balanced with notes of golden syrup and cut herbs, toasted oak spices develop with a dark yet soft peat and whirls of smoke. The finish is toasted and long with fino notes.
