Spirit of Unity Bottling Note
Created by a group of independent distilleries including Arran, BenRiach, Bladnoch, GlenDronach, Glengyle, Kilchoman and Springbank. They joined forces and worked with designers, waiving usual fees so a whopping £40.94 from every single bottle sold could be donated straight to Refugees International Japan to help the country rebuild after the earthquake and Tsunami in early 2011. A very noble effort!
Nose: Malty and sweet with candied peels, orange zest and just a faint whiff of gentle woodsmoke.
Palate: Creamy and malty with notes of juicy barley, toasted oak, warm custard, watermelon and pepper.
Finish: Good length with notes of honey on hot buttered toast, with hints of fruit and allspice.
