Rye Whiskey - 2013
San Francisco World Spirits Competition
What's in a name? Smooth Ambler Old Scout 7 Year Old Rye whiskey is called whiskey because it's produced in America. Were it from Scotland it would be spelled Smooth Ambler Old Scout 7 Year Old Rye whisky, rather than whiskey.
Nose: Caster sugar leads into delicious rye and a dusting of cocoa.
Palate: More brown sugar notes now. Hot, sticky and melting in a pan.
Finish: Smooth, warming and spicy.
