Whisky or Whiskey

Interesting fact… Ledaig 12 Year Old 1997 - Dun Bheagan (Ian MacLeod) whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Ledaig 12 Year Old 1997 - Dun Bheagan (Ian MacLeod) whiskey, instead of whisky.

Ledaig 12 Bottling Note

12 year old peated whisky from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. Ledaig was actually a previous name for the distillery. This was distilled in March of 1997 and aged in a butt number 800007 before bottling for the Dun Bheagan range in 2010. A release of 832 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Smoked meats, medicinal notes, a very interesting cocoa note. Rather like dusting cocoa over a chocolate spongecake. There's also some pretty unique peat smoke and dry driftwood.
Palate: Drying with wood, a good whack of the coast too, and plenty of rich, fruity peat. Tangy citrus notes, and dry grass.
Finish: Saline, mouthwatering, with creamy sweetness and smoke.
