Nose: Incredibly rum-like aroma with notes of dark sugar. Then there are all sorts of cooked fruits, a bit like a rhubarb crumble, but with a really mature spicy edge. Then hints of over-ripe orchard fruits and their blossom.
Palate: Very soft in terms of peat smoke. This has a heat though, like glowing embers, but only faint hints of smoke. Notes of Cognac rancio, perhaps a hint of two of porcini mushrooms, citrus, marmalade, almond.
Finish: Gentle to finish, still carrying an incredible silky mouthfeel. Supple and decadent.
