Douglas Laing properly go for it with their Old and Rare Platinum range, picking only the most ridiculously desirable whiskies to join the impressive selection. Speaking of ridiculously desirable, how does a 30 year old Port Ellen sound? Distilled in April 1982, a year before the distillery closed down, it matured for 30 quiet years until it was bottled in November 2012, with an outturn of just 139 bottles.

Absolutely fantastic whisky.
Without a doubt one of the best Whiskys I've ever tasted. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy a whole bottle.
