Penderyn Red Flag Bottling Note

This is a delicious Welsh whisky from Penderyn's Icons of Wales series. The Red Flag edition commemorates the first time a red flag was raised as a symbol of social protest, which took place over the execution of a miner - named Dic Penderyn - during the 1831 Merthyr Rising. The whisky is finished in Madeira wine casks before bottling.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Soft spices and dates. A little rhubarb crumble, allspice, a touch of caramel and dried herbs.

Palate: Sweet, sherried palate with a herbal, honey-like backbone. Quite malty, with a wave of spices, marzipan and dried grass.

Finish: Long, nutty finish. Creamy and spiced.
