MacPhail's 1950 Bottling Note

This was distilled in 1950, before maturation in Gordon and MacPhail's own casks in Elgin. This is a whopping 50 years old, and was aged in refill sherry casks to let the distillery character shine through. A classic Speyside dram.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite thick and well-fruited. There are notes of chewy sultanas and peels, a touch of sherry and chocolate raisin with notes of toffee and butter. The palate is of good body with notes of caramel and crème anglaise, a touch of toasty oak and a little spice. The finish is long and sweet with a beautiful caramel note.
