What's in a name? Macduff 24 Year Old 1989 - Small Batch (WM Cadenhead) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Macduff 24 Year Old 1989 - Small Batch (WM Cadenhead) whiskey, rather than whisky.
A bitter, woody, overly spicy, sappy, leathery, burnt sugary single Sherry Butt matured Whisky with light notes of rubber (sulphur) and slight meatiness hidden underneath. All this makes for a slightly unbalanced, difficult to drink Whisky with a pretty "hard" finish.
Not my favourite, considering how many great Whiskies there are on this Cadenhead's Small Batch range.
The guys at Cadenhead's and the chaps at Master of Malt should have known better!
