What's in a name? Macallan 12 Year Old 1997 (Signatory) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Macallan 12 Year Old 1997 (Signatory) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Anytime you can find Macallan at 46% its a must try. This oak aged expression really shows the beauty of Macallan even before the sherry maturation. This scotch is great sipped neat, with a splash, or an ice cube. Notes of honey and cereal notes on the nose and the palate. Excellent.
