Nose: Unexpected! Buttery and floral, caramel popcorn, menthol and a hint of aniseed. The peat smoke here is very subtle.
Palate: Very refined. All the typical Laphroaig notes are there; the peat smoke, the medicinal heat, but this has been to finishing school. There's a lot of creamy sweetness here, backed by a sea salt tang.
Finish: Long, and more typically Laphroaig, but retains the sweet notes throughout.
Overall: A superb Laphroaig that's incredibly easy to drink; both subtle and refined.
