Laphroaig 15 #8512 Bottling Note

A beautiful hogshead-matured Laphroaig from Signatory's Cask Strength Collection. This was distilled on the 26th November 1996 before a 15 year maturation in a single cask. It was bottled at natural cask strength in 2012 and there are 280 numbered bottles available.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Clean peat smoke and buttery toffee notes. A lovely hint of vanilla, as well as fresh oysters with lemon juice.

Palate: Rich palate entry with smouldering peat embers and a little marzipan. Tar, treacle and allspice.

Finish: Sticking plasters and spice.

Wonderfull!

I got myself a 15 year old Laphroaig, cask #8512, what a wonderfull gift! Very Laphroaig, very strong, very distinctive! Looking forward to the Laphroaig PX, on casks of Pedro Xeminez sweet creme sherry. Anton ten Have - Fortmond - The Netherlands

Dissatisfied

Try a sample first. This is no classic. For the money get the 18 instead. It is the finish that let's it down. Hollow and bitter.
