What's in a name? Laphroaig 15 Year Old 1996 - Signatory whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Laphroaig 15 Year Old 1996 - Signatory whiskey, rather than whisky.
The nose is reminiscent of TCP and iodine with firm earthiness which leads to sweet vanilla pods and seaweed on the palate. Finally the finish is long, peaty and phenolic. This is classic unhampered Laphroaig!
