Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 2002

Here's the 2002 vintage 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Knockando distillery. A very elegant Speysider, with plenty of fruit and cereal at its centre - a tasty aperitif single malt.
Creamy malt and summer fruits, with a juicy hint of blackcurrant. A little suggestion of smoke.
Develops nutty notes on the palate, leaning towards chewy cereal hints.
Caramel popcorn with a sprinkle of black pepper.

Lots of honey, cereal & fruit notes with a touch of spice; smooth, clean, delicious. I love my Islays, especially Ardbegs, but this is one of the Speysiders I keep coming back to when I want a break from the big smoke.
Lovely, not to be rushed! A lovely speyside, using the glencairn glass opens it right up.
Suits my taste perfectly. I keep it in the locked cupboard for me only.
£17 vs £37 is still a good deal.
Drinking neat: Apple cider, candied apple, floral, perfume, honey, spice. My first Speyside and it's more like a Brandy rather than a Scotch. My wife bought this for me but I have never mentioned Knockando so I wasn't very pleased with it before even opening it. I admit this could be effecting my rating. It's good and enjoyable but it's nothing special.
