Single Malt
A 12 year old triple distilled malt from Springbank, very good indeed. This was first released in August 2009, with a limited release of just 3,900 bottles.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Pungent and aromatic with notes of dried fruits, plenty of sherry integration with notes of citrus, toffee and nuts.
Spicy on the palate, nutty and cocoa rich, oak, coffee, gentle peat.
Coffee, spices, citrus, chocolate, long finish.
I absolutely love the gentle peet with rich flavor! My new favorite!
Probably one of the finest single malts, I have enjoyed. Best value at +- BP 41.00 Silken, soft and mellow to the taste. No afterburn (albeit the name has a "burn" element to it.
Nice whisky with just a little hint of smoke.
Based on the suggestion in another review, gave this one a long time to open up. Nose of citrus and slight peat. Mild with gentle whole mouth feel.
I'm a big springbank fan but found elements of a 2010 bottling that i just didn't like. My bottle wasn't 5 star.
