Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Hanyu 1991 Cask 370 whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Japan. Were it from America it would be spelled Hanyu 1991 Cask 370 whiskey, rather than whisky.

Hanyu 1991 Bottling Note

A single cask from the Hanyu distillery in South Japan. Distilled in 1991, matured in a hogshead and finished in Japanese oak before bottling 2009. An outturn of 361 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lots of dark fruits, dried and rich. Figs, dates, nutty. Fruit salad. Tannins.

Palate: Big, chewy, tannic oak. Pleasant acidity.

Finish: Remins us of Watermelon Nerds. You'll just have to try this one for yourselves!

Overall: Great stuff, Karuizawa is producing some real corkers.
