The nose is soft and rich. There are notes of sherried sultanas and peels, leathery notes, herbal hints and liquorice. A little sugary spice creeps in. The palate is thick and chewy. The oaked tannins are rich and sumptuous with well-balanced acidity and spice. Liquorice notes and a touch of barley. The finish is long and well-oaked with a good dryness.
