Glengoyne
Scotland
Single Malt
This is an absolute gem; you need this in your lives. This 16 year old was finished in casks from the Glenguin estate in Australia's Hunter Valley. Lord Robin Tedder established the winery in 1988, Glenguin was actually the original name for the Glengoyne distillery. The first baron of Glenguin took the name because his father was an excise officer at the distillery in the late 19th century.
Barley, a lot of red fruits.
Huge, red berry fruits, wine.
Long, sweet and broad.
Sublime.

Very impressive single malt. Absolutely delicious. Nose is very complex bits of orange peel, spicy fruit, red apples but not over powerful. Distilled at 48% alcohol so could use a drop of water to really open it up and bring out the caramel, toffee, dark chocolate and nuts. Very smooth on the palate with lots of complex flavors. Hint of Sherry, spicy berries, vanilla, coffee, wild fruit, bananas with hints of pepper and sea salt. Truly magnificent. A very unique whiskey. I highly recommend to any whiskey enthusiast. I am pleased to rate this a 93/100. (The only other scotch under 18 years to get a rating this high was the Ardbeg Corryvrechan.)
One of the greatest whiskey's I have ever tasted. Intensely rounded spicy, smooth, long flavored, it's got a plethora of flavors almost like a long journey in your mouth . Taste: vanilla, almonds, spicy berries, some citrus Wow! spectacular!
