Glenfiddich 1977 Bottling Note
Distilled in 1977 at William Grant's first distillery, the legendary Glenfiddich. This was matured for 31 years in refill sherry casks.
The nose is thick and rich. There are notes of mixed peels and thick fruit. Cut herbs and apple blossom with a touch of bramley apple and greengages. There are notes of honey and rubbed petals with a grassiness, a touch of heather root and a very gentle peat. The palate is quite full and rich. There is a good sweetness with barley sugar and mixed fruits, fruit salad and fragrant woods, resins and confiture d’abricot. There are notes of dried herbs and mixed toasty cereals. The finish is long and rich with a good tannic oak.
