The 21 year old Glencadam, boasting a lot of richness and malty flavour. Very tasty with a lot going on…
Buttery and sweet with notes of tropical fruits, citrus, marmalade, toast, and custard.
Spicy and tingling on the tongue with oak-led spices, vanilla, cinnamon and allspice, creamy pineapple and hints of coconut alongside toasted barley.
Good length with some oaky dryness and tropical fruit.
Old School Malt! Glencadam 21 is something to try if you want to see what single malt is like after 21 plus years without big sherry or peat to obscure it. Glad Whisky Whistle got to try it!
Very smooth buttery for for sure..
First review mainly because I felt this was truly necessary. Favorite yet, it took the top spot from the Deveron 18 and Glenmorangie 18, Glenfarclas 25 is number 4 on my list. Whenever I open the bottle I am instantly reminded how beautiful it is. An oxymoron smell that hits you strongly with light fruit. Palate is beautifully complex, smooth, with vanilla and fruit at the fore. Perfect spring/summer dram.
Stunning dram! Best served with a pipette of water and leave it to open up for 5 minutes or so. Delicious! I had never heard of Glencadam until recently and they are quickly becoming one of my favourites! The 10 and 15 year olds are also rather fine!
Colour 8/10%; Nose 17/20% ; Palate 34/40% ; Overall 26/30% Total:85/100 Tasting Notes: A higher version of the previous one. Harsh despite the age. Fragrant + woody.
