Darkness
Scotland
Single Malt

An intense Glen Moray, bottled as part of the Darkness! range of super Sherried whiskies. Before this little devil was bottled, it spent a final three months in tiny, specially coopered, 50 litre, first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks to give the whisky a hearty dose of Sherry goodness!
"The nose takes me back to my Fleet Street days when a famous old wine bar there served up the most outrageously OTT oloroso sherry matured whisky I had ever come across. Until now."- Jim Murray (85.5 Points)
With just a little water herbal, honeyed notes emerge with dried apricots, raisins, rich strawberry sauce and hints of syrupy tropical fruits too. Cashew nuts and rosemary honey develop.
Honey drizzled all over fruit salad and sultanas with a bag of roasted chestnuts from a roadside stall chucked in for good measure.
Nutty oak with alternating notes of pecan, cashew nut and chestnut.
This Glen Moray hides the path before you in plain sight as it drags you in all sorts of enjoyable directions before returning to the rich main road each time.

A touch of old engine oil, maybe even a hint of sulphur, but all in a deeply amazing way. This is big, complex, massively OTT whisky.
Dryness and sweetness in buckets - very rounded and complex.
