Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1959

This was distilled in 1959 at the Glen Grant distillery and matured in first fill sherry casks before Gordon and MacPhail bottled it. They describe it as "a malt to be savoured."
The nose is full and chewy with a good body. There are notes of toffee and honeyed spice. Notes of cloves and mulled wine with a good, tannic chewy oak. A touch of black pepper and sultana. The palate is rich and full. The balance is superb with a perfect sweetness, notes of calvados and apple peels, notes of juicy pears and winter fruitcake. The finish is long with sherry and toffee.
