This single cask number 334 Glen Douglas was distilled in 200, part of a limited release from a single cask distilled at the Loch Lomond distillery.
The nose is quite light and very well-balanced. There are notes of fresh stemmy hay and cut grass. Hints of apple blossom and fruit salad. Soft esters and juicy pears. There is a calvados note and a touch of stewed fruit with oak and barley sugar. The palate is of medium-body with a superb balance. There are notes of barley sugar and cereal sweetness. Acacia honey emerges with malt extract and fennel. There is an aniseed note with a touch of toffee and vanilla with toasty oak. The finish is of medium-length with a touch of bitterness.
