What's in a name? Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky 1l whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky 1l whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Light, crisp. Cut flowers. Barley. Toffee sweetness.
Palate: Light and balanced. Spice, barley. Caramel, touch of smoke.
Finish: Touch of sweetness, caramel.
forgot to rate... three stars as well. In this rating I also include and applaud the fact that Grouse has remained consistently dependable quality wise for so long!

I agree that you can't go wrong with it. But boring? No, no. I get fresh oak, fall fruits, salt, butter, apple, white pepper, some citrus and some sherry and I find the nose charming and juicy, the palate more than ok and the finish actually quite long for a blend.
You can't really go wrong with this blend. It's as inoffensive as it gets. It's also kind of boring.
