This is a delicious small-batch, cask-strength Deanston bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It features a stunning graphic-novel-style label featuring an illustration of the conversion of the distillery from a cotton mill. This all took place during the 1960s, and thus there is a pair of hippies witnessing the arrival of a copper pot still!
"Wow! Not seen Deanston in this kind of nick for about 15 years! I am quite taken aback. Just grab some of that honey...!!"- Jim Murray (94 Points)
This is batch 1 - a release of 218 numbered bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Hints of fresh mint and roasting coffee beans. Dark chocolate and a little caramel too. Toasted oak.
Baking spices meld with fresh peppermint leaves and creamy custard. A hint of butterscotch and cooked fruit too. Greengages appear late palate.
Tangy fruit on the finish. Cinnamon and just a touch of old leather.

loved this.. only problem is its sold out and I cant afford batch 2 just yet. Full of spice on the nose, through to caramel and nuts finishing with a clean herby/ fruity finish. FAB
A bought over dozen samples to check out, and, of course, I had forgotten the prices byt the time they arrived. I was sure this was one of the samples whose price topped $150 (US). God bless The Chaps at MoM for their ability to distinguish things in the nose and palate I could not. I did get the caramel notes, the toasted oak, tangy fruit. Didnt get the peppermint and many of the other things they noted. But this is delicious stuff, a definitely a great value buy.
