    Single Malt

Croftengea 1996 Select Cask No. 283

A sherry finished, peated single malt from Loch Lomond, part of a release of just 380 bottles, distilled in January 1996 and bottled in September 2005 under the Croftengea label.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite smoky with heather roots and juicy chocolate enrobed sultanas. There is a solid slab of peat and extinguished fire with smoked meats and superb texture. The palate is quite dry with notes of stemmy hay, mocchaccino, spice and oaked tannins, good peaty notes and hints of pepper and smoked meats with wood shavings. The finish is long and spicy with a certain oiliness.
