Nose: Coastal and earthy. Notes of peatsmoke from the malting kiln, and sea spray coming off the Sound of Islay. Some light citrus and potpourri, hints of linseed oil.
Palate: Oily and very interesting. Much like a cross between the smell inside a musty old shed filled with lawnmowers and other garden machinery, combined with oak-like sweetness, honey and pine resin. Very smoky.
Finish: Good length, fading away on the smoke from a coal fire, chamomile tea and muscovado sugar.
