Bunnahabhain 1986 Octave Bottling Note

This cask strength Bunnahabhain was distilled in 1986 and aged for 25 years before bottling. The latter part of the maturation was spent in an Octave cask - much smaller than a standard hogshead - and this afforded the whisky extra spice and flavour. It was bottled by Duncan Taylor for their Octave range.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fresh and fruity with more than a hint of the coast. Honeydew melons, beeswax, black pepper and canned peaches.

Palate: Ripe and fruity with notes of barley sugar, cranberry juice, tropical fruit, apples, pear skin and malt. Develops with nutmeg and exotic spices.

Finish: Good length with notes of salted butter and honey.
