    Product details

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie - Scottish Barley

Bruichladdich's flagship unpeated single malt release, made with 100% Scottish barley. It's also bottled at a hearty 50% ABV, which is a chunk higher than equivalent releases from almost any other distillery (usually 40-46%). This bottling strength is said to help bring the barley notes to the fore. Head Distiller Adam Hannett works with an ever-increasing range of casks aged alongside Lochindaal as well as changing profiles and varieties of carefully traced barley to put together a refreshing whisky with the signature fruity and floral Bruichladdich house style.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Elegantly sweet with honey'd barley, boiled sweets and orange petals. Wafts of sea air.

    Palate

Red apples and white grapes, with touches of sweet cinnamon and brown sugar. Still softly coastal.

    Finish

Mineral-rich malt, with toffee and more honey.

    Undrinkable

This stuff is disgusting, for me it tastes of burnt rubber and rotten eggs. This is the only whisky ever, that I’ve been unable to drink and gave away. I would describe myself as a regular whisky, I try lots of different types, my favourites currently are generally the big flavoured stronger Islay types. I don’t know what they’ve done with this to make it taste of burnt rubber and rotten eggs but it’s undrinkable.

    Vibrant Start, Flawed Finish

Bruichladdich's The Classic Laddie presents a bouquet of honeyed sweetness intertwined with delicate floral notes, vanilla, and candied orange & citrus peels, all subtly underscored by soft oak. On the palate, it exudes youthful vigor, with honey taking center stage alongside brown sugar, mineral undertones, and floral accents. However, the finish, though lengthy and offering a sweet-bitter interplay, is marred by a peppery, musty oak aftertaste that detracts from the overall experience.

What a belter. Rounded, rich and so many great flavours going on. Islay produces great whisky and this is right up there. Straight to my desert island shortlist.

    Not for peaty blinders

This is a great young whisky, if you want smoke and peat move along, nothing to see here. If you fancy a nice half that hits all the right notes and doesn't break the bank, well look no further. I really enjoy this one and will buy again.

    Lovely!

One of my favourite whiskys, I have quite a decent collect but this one I always go back to. Yum!
