Brechin 28 Bottling Note
Part of a release of just 2,040 bottles of Brechin (aka North Port). This was aged for 28 years before bottling at cask strength.
The nose is crisp with excellent depth and clarity. Notes of gentle smoke rise from a lit bundle of hay. A touch of grist and drying grass, a little citric tang provides veritable lucidity. A touch of malt and barley rises. The palate is beautifully balanced with notes of freshly cut grass, a touch of fennel and parsley, blossom and rubbed petals with lemon juice and gentle sugars. The wood develops with a very faint nod towards salinity. The palate is long with the oak rising to proffer a touch of desiccation.
