Nose: The aroma is peaty with phenolic medicinal and damp undergrowth notes.
Palate: The mouth-feel is surprisingly silky whilst the flavour is ashy with notes of ground black pepper.
Finish: The finish is much more toffee’d than the rest of the drink but with later notes of pear crumble.
Overall: There is a lot going on in this relatively young whisky, and it is well worth a try.
