Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Bowmore 8 Year Old 2003 (Berry Bros. & Rudd) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bowmore 8 Year Old 2003 (Berry Bros. & Rudd) whiskey, rather than whisky.

Bowmore 2003 Bottling Note

This Bowmore was bottled in 2012 by Berry Brothers and Rudd. Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay and still delivers a top quality Scotch.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: The aroma is peaty with phenolic medicinal and damp undergrowth notes.

Palate: The mouth-feel is surprisingly silky whilst the flavour is ashy with notes of ground black pepper.

Finish: The finish is much more toffee’d than the rest of the drink but with later notes of pear crumble.

Overall: There is a lot going on in this relatively young whisky, and it is well worth a try.
