What's in a name? Bowmore 25 Year Old (Small Batch Release) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bowmore 25 Year Old (Small Batch Release) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Dark fruits and coastal smokiness. Slightly herbal.
Palate: Characteristic peat smoke, cocoa and dry, creamy nuttiness.
Finish: Gentle smoke, oak, mocha, hints of prunes.
as luck would have it, my local bar was out of the Balvenie I ordered, and substituted a dram of this stuff for the same price. The smoothest scotch I've ever tasted--warm, spicy, soft, woody. Must save my pennies for another.
