Interesting fact… Bowmore 16 Year Old 1991 Port Matured whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Bowmore 16 Year Old 1991 Port Matured whiskey, instead of whisky.
This stuff is incredible!! Perhaps the perfect balance between dark forest fruits and just enough peat and smoke to back it up going into a very nice cherry - chocalate finish. This also becomes better when the bottle is opened for a few weeks. Stunning taste and just needs a couple of drops of water to open up a bit more. Best during the cold months of the year; luckily I have a 4th bottle waiting for the next winter!! At the moment just the most exciting whisky I ever tasted ( from about 100 single malts ).
