Nose: Dry, barley, big on malt and oak. Dry pine, fruity. A tad spirity. Sweet spices after a time and a hint of puckering prune from the sherry cask and maple fudge. Palate: Barley, slightly herbal, a little fruit, grassy. Big on malt, ground ginger. Finish: Mouthwateringly bittersweet. Ginger, dry sherry, almost hoppy after a while. Overall: A great whisky, its maturity belies its 10 years of age and the sherry finish has done wonders. ...more

Benromach 10
A lovely dram - one of the best 10 year olds I've tasted for a long time. More sherry on the nose than the colour would suggest and then a smooth mouth-coating fruity, smoky, spicy sensation that lingers for quite a while. Well worth a try!
A Whisky convert!
I have never liked whisky but at the 2009 Good Food Show in Birmingham my sister encouraged me to have a taste and wow what a lovely drink! It's smooth almost sherry like with a whisky kick - I'm now a complete convert, at least to Benromach Single Malt!
