Benriach - Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
The second Batch of Benriach single malt scotch whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Recently Benriach began malting the own barley once again, it is labour intensive work however, potentially leading to a bad case of the ol' Monkey Shoulder!
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, bourbons, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
58 bottles of this batch were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Raspberries and a little honey, perhaps in creamy porridge. Red vermouth and brown sugar develop before toffee apples emerge, marmalade too.
Palate
Cherries, citrus and a little sweet peat before a definite nuttiness right at the end.
Finish
Peppery heat with freeze-dried strawberries.
Overall
Another cracking, fruity Speyside release.
