Insider knowledge: BenRiach Heredotus 12 Year Old (Pedro Ximénez Sherry Finish) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be BenRiach Heredotus 12 Year Old (Pedro Ximénez Sherry Finish) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Lots of firm peat. Malty, slightly smoky.
Palate: Soft. Supple pine with notes of Americano coffee, malty peat whirling throughout. Vanilla.
Finish: Dry, cereal notes, barley.
This is the one of all the whiskys you can talk about absolute world class for a fair price. /Andreas Ödén Gävle, Sweden

Great whisky, could really play in a higher league. Has moments close in sensation to these of Ardbeg Uigedal. An achievement!!!

I'm not a sherry/peat man but this was a synchronised and pleasant marriage of the two. I would not hesitate for a second purchasing this.
