Bell's Original is a smooth, well-rounded whisky with a hint of smoke. It's perfect for enjoying neat or on the rocks.
Bell's whisky is the United Kingdom's most popular blended Scotch whisky, this is the standard release of Bell's Original, with notes of fresh herbs on the nose with cereal sweetness on the palate.
Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey.
Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice.
Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke.
I thought it would be nice, as it is allegedly based on Blair Athol malt whiskey, the 12 year old Flora and Fauna being a favourite. I was disappointed. It is - how best to describe it - an industrial spirit. Harsh, and flavourless. It was the right price, but give me Monkey Shoulder any day. I doubt there is any Blair Athol in it now, but there is a lot of grain. Not a repeat purchase.
This is the only “whisky” that was offered on my recent all inclusive holiday. It doesn’t even resemble Whisky. It’s absolutely disgusting stuff. Had to make do with pints of lager which I haven’t drank in over 15 years.
Worst Whisky I have ever tasted. Totally devoid of any interesting flavours. Yet a big seller in England..a total mystery to me.
As a Englishman growing up in the 80s if any event required whisky it was always bells we had, if there was a funeral they brought bells, Christmas time...bells, birthday gift...bells, it was really that popular, now I have drank alot of whisky I have no idea why that was.I can only imagine that it was much better then, but surely white horse and teachers where similarly priced, maybe it was marketing, it's definitely a mixer now ,for my tastes anyway
Delicious Delightful bargain priced Scotch!! Tasting light honey a waft of smoke and spice .. great Scotch for serving guests before they retire from your game for the night!!
