Interesting fact… Balvenie 17 Year Old Peated Cask whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Balvenie 17 Year Old Peated Cask whiskey, instead of whisky.
My wife gave this to me as an early Christmas present this year. Well, this was one fantastic gift. Hints of orange, chocolate and toffee on the nose with just a hint of that peated smoke in the background. One sip and that buttery, creamy feel just covers the mouth. The finish in this one is where the peat really shows. Well done to the folk at Balvenie!
