What's in a name? Arran Port Cask Finish (2010 Release) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Arran Port Cask Finish (2010 Release) whiskey, rather than whisky.
If you're looking for a full bodied whisky with a lot of layers of flavour, then this is it. The nose is light and fruity; the palate is a little sweet at first with a lot of dried fruit, it continues to a burst of spice from the 50%abv with a bit of salt and spice from the oak. Great whisky to sip on with a touch of water, it becomes very soft. EP
Got this as an xmas present, love it, definitely needs a small amount of spring water with this one as it can be a little harsh otherwise. Especially compared to my favorite portwood finish which is the Tomintoul.
