What's in a name? Ardbeg Lord Of The Isles 25 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Ardbeg Lord Of The Isles 25 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Rich, deep. Notes of citrus, warm pastries, coastal. Big puffs of smoke, leather, fruity. Palate: Sublime. Notes of leather, tobacco, smoke, limes, nutty. Black pepper and peat. Finish: Long, sticking plasters, smoky.

Good but not that good
A great Ardbeg but not as weighty as you'd expect. This is a very refined dram, perhaps too refined for a 25 yo Ardbeg. I have to say I was a little disappointed. The Rollercoaster offers more punch and some of the private bottelings around this age offer more smooth-old-age-Ardbeg that you would expect. I would say, in short, a great dram but at a quarter the price.
