From The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria comes The Lakes Vodka, which is made with water from the River Derwent (the very same River Derwent which was mentioned in William Wordworth's book, The Prelude!) and triple distilled for the desired clarity and flavour profile. Clean and crisp, like the morning air in the Lake District.
Very soft and a touch drying, with light hints of peppery wheat coming through.
An easy drinking vodka, would never mix this one but lacks some of the notes you get from the higher up in quality, but still very good and smooth and like I say it’s not a mixer vodka by any means.
A fair neutral-flavoured vodka, lacking the roughness or interventionist flavours of the supermarket cheapies. Good, but as with all premium vodka you're paying for the label, and you can get find as good for £5-10 less, eg. Koskenkorva, Reyka, Distil No.9, Black Cow, etc. But if you're looking for things in the Grey Goose/Snow Queen/Crystal Head corner of the world, this is a fine one.
Better than their gin... but doesn’t have stand out qualities that makes me want to make a repeat purchase - a bit overpriced.
It is a bit pricey for vodka but is worth a place on the shelf. Up there as one of if not the best vodka I have ever tried.
One of the best Vodkas on the market, much better than other like for like bigger brands!
