Ocho Reposado Tequila '11 Bottling Note

This is Tequila from Ocho is a Resposado which translates into English as 'rested' meaning that it has spent at least two months in wooden casks or vats. Tequila doesn't require the same period of ageing as Scotch whisky because the flavour of the agave can easily be overpowered by the oak which is undesirable in a Tequila.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Almond croissant and vanilla ice cream sprinkled with nutmeg and vanilla.

Palate: The herbaceous nature of the agave emerges with notes of mixed herbs and green fruits.

Finish: There is a touch of oak which politely makes way to agave syrup.

Overall: A chewy Tequila with a touch of oak whilst still retaining fresh notes of the agave.
