Why the negative reviews on this
Sailor Jerry 1.5l
The Original Recipe. That's right, this is the original recipe, before they changed it. For all of you who miss the glorious flavour of old school Sailor Jerry, well here it is!
Boycott the new rubbish.
Sailor Jerry original is rare
If you hark back to when Sailor Jerry was a tasty rum, Asda Caribbean tastes like it. No idea who makes it for them, but it's just like when I first tried SJ about nine years ago.

Can't believe what the Original Sailor Jerry is going for. £125 a bottle the last one sold for makes me not want to ever open my 10 bottles.

All is not lost!
If you like me are a big fan of the original flavour of Sailor Jerry's then you can buy it once again under the name of Old J. I was so happy at this news I brought 3 bottles!

A better alternative....
Having recently tried Rebellion Spiced Rum as an alternative to Sailor Jerry I feel this new rum is far better than the original Sailor Jerry, furthermore is made with real vanilla pods and other spices. Why settle for a commercially flavoured Sailor Jerry when you can enjoy something far better. If you ask me Rebellion Rum is even better than the Old Sailor J and Old J....it's worth a try.

right people, the newest sailor jerry's is actually the original recipe that was made. the initial recipe that came to us was made for the European market as it was sweeter. Once sailor jerry's had created a market for there drink they thought they could change the recipe back to the original and still have the following they had, unfortunately for them this back fired a little. Apparently the first sweeter recipe is going to return but if anyone knows rum it does take years to make so we'll have to wait a little longer yet. hope this clears things up a little

There is a reason people are paying so much for the original, wake up Sailor Jerry Company!

Lets face it, the problem is with the 'new' (not so much anymore, but ah well) recipe, not this beautiful formula!
This product needs high ratings, as it's very deserved of it.
Save the negativity for the other recipe.

And i used to enjoy alcohol....
Ive put so many people on to the original rum. How could you guys say the new recipe is the product of professional tasters and bartenders? Find a single comment on here that says "i enjoy the new recipe" Oh wait..... NO ONE LIKES THAT GARBAGE rubbing alcohol and all spice. First drinks you make me sick

SJ is spinning in his grave at how his good name is sold out by the company.

New recipe? Spiced p*** more like! And it was changed for corporate greed, not the pallete of its loyal customers!
I've just forked out for two of these from ebay at 65 notes apiece, one as a birthday present to meself, t'other to stash away. There's no comparison. Want the old SJ but can't find it? Lamb's Spiced (very close, just a shade more cinamon)or Vernon's Old J (smells the same, tastes just a shade better!)

I have just bought a bottle of the old recipe off of eBay I cannot wait for that sweet sweet nector. It may have hurt my wallet 80 English pounds for a litre and half but I would gladly have paid more as this drink is that tits
