An interesting expression from Panamanian Rum range Ron Abuelo - a well-aged expression which has been given a finishing period in casks that previously contained Napoleon Cognac! Ought to be a fascinating tipple...
Melon, pineapple, toasted sugar and cedar, with a touch of smoke to it.
Dark chocolate and herbal honey, with a little bit of red berry tanginess.
Dry cacao and cinnamon.

Superb flavour and length. Flavour predominantly molasses, and not too sweet. Slight preference for this over El Dorado 21 (which is also excellent). Abuelo 12 is also superb.
This is an outstanding rum, the flavour is intense with just enough warmth, I wont call it a burn because it’s smoothness defies that description. Obviously the tasting and appreciation of anything is subjective but I’m going to stick my neck out and say this rum is a work of art of the highest calibre, for me it should be a world champion, I’ve not tasted anything as good as Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish ever!
