The Sailor Jerry brand is named for Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins - a seaman and famed tattoo artist. At nineteen, Norman became a sailor and travelled the world before eventually settling in Honolulu. It was here that he set up his first tattoo parlour. His designs... were very popular and he has gained world fame. On board the ships, there was access to barrels of rum as well as dried spices and flavourings. Thus, the sailors would create their own recipes for spiced rum whilst they were at sea. The recipe for Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is based on Norman Collins’ original seafaring concoction.
